What that actually means for your trip:
- The afternoons are the best of the autumn. Twenty degrees and dry sun is ideal for walking the Strip by day and hiking in the canyons.
- The evenings arrive suddenly. The clocks go back an hour on Sunday 1 November, and from then on it is dark before 5pm; the temperature drops quickly after sunset.
- It hardly ever rains. Two wet days in the month, and many Novembers have none.
- Pool season is over. Most resorts close their big pool decks or keep a single heated pool open through the winter.
Is November a good time to visit Las Vegas? Yes, as long as you choose the week. The weather is as good as it gets for being outdoors, and the middle of the month, between the SEMA trade show and the Grand Prix, is quiet and well priced. Grand Prix week turns the Strip into a race circuit, with road closures and some of the highest room rates of the year, and Thanksgiving brings a holiday crowd at the end of the month.

The SEMA Show, the giant automotive aftermarket trade fair, fills the Las Vegas Convention Center from 3 to 6 November 2026. It is open to the trade only, but it books out hotels across the city for the week, along with the restaurants and rideshares around the convention centre.
The Las Vegas Grand Prix runs on a street circuit along the Strip from Thursday 19 to Saturday 21 November 2026, with practice on the Thursday, qualifying at 8pm on the Friday and the race at 8pm on the Saturday. In the weeks around it, sections of the Boulevard and its cross streets close for construction and racing, some walking routes change, and traffic in the resort corridor slows. Thanksgiving, on Thursday 26 November, is a family holiday across the United States, and many Americans spend the long weekend in Las Vegas. Restaurants serve set holiday dinners, and the shopping weekend that follows, starting on Black Friday, brings the first big sales of the season.

Solo Travellers
Hike Red Rock Canyon in the cool of the morning, from the Calico Tanks to Turtlehead Peak for the fit, then spend the evening downtown on Fremont Street and at the Neon Museum, which is at its best after dark.
Couples
Drive to Valley of Fire for a day of red sandstone and petroglyphs, then catch a residency show midweek in mid-November, when seats are easy to get. A dinner with a view of the Strip suits the long evenings.
Families
The Hoover Dam tour, the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay and the free Bellagio Conservatory, which changes to its autumn display, all work in the mild weather. The Grand Prix fan zones appeal to older children during race week.
Groups
Book grandstand or hospitality seats for the Grand Prix, or come for Thanksgiving weekend and the clubs. In the quiet middle of the month, the best tables at the shows and restaurants are easy to find.
#Getting Around
Taxis and rideshares wait in the marked zones at Harry Reid International Airport, a short ride from the Strip.
Along the Boulevard, the Deuce double-decker bus runs day and night, and the Las Vegas Monorail, behind the east side of the Strip, is the quickest way to the Convention Center during SEMA week.
November is a good month for a car.
Red Rock Canyon, about half an hour west, needs a timed-entry reservation for its Scenic Drive between 8am and 5pm, and the drive closes at 5pm through the winter; Valley of Fire lies an hour to the north-east, and Hoover Dam under an hour to the south-east.
Veterans Day, 11 November, is a fee-free day at Red Rock, though the time slot still has to be booked.
