College basketball takes over the sportsbooks. Several conference tournaments are usually played in the city in early March, and the opening days of the national tournament, March Madness, in the middle of the month are among the busiest of the year for sports betting.

From Harry Reid International Airport, a taxi or rideshare to the Strip is a short ride outside the busiest weekend arrivals.
Along the Boulevard the Deuce double-decker never stops running, and the Las Vegas Monorail links the resorts on the east side.
March is the month a hire car pays for itself.
Red Rock Canyon is about 30 minutes west, with timed-entry reservations for the Scenic Drive between 8am and 5pm; Valley of Fire is an hour north-east; and Lake Mead and Hoover Dam under an hour south-east. On NASCAR weekend, avoid the interstate north around race times.
