Spring & Autumn — The Peak Windows
Spring (March–May) is the most celebrated window: cherry blossoms blanket the city's parks and riverbanks for roughly two weeks, drawing visitors from around the world to Shinjuku Gyoen, Ueno Park, and the Meguro River. Autumn (September–November) offers the second peak, when maple and ginkgo trees turn the city copper and gold with far smaller crowds.
Summer & Winter — Festivals and Quiet Days
Summer is humid but alive with festivals — Obon lantern ceremonies, rooftop beer gardens, and neighbourhood fireworks displays. Winter is Tokyo's quietest and cheapest season, with crisp clear days perfect for Mount Fuji views and illumination displays that rival any city on earth.
