In 2026 it set off from the Ángel de la Independencia and followed Reforma, Avenida Juárez and 5 de Mayo to the Zócalo, where the day ends with a concert. It is one of the largest Pride marches in Latin America, and Reforma is closed to traffic for much of the day. The bars of Zona Rosa, the city's gay district around Calle Amberes, are full all weekend.
Noche de Museos falls on the last Wednesday of each month, 30 June in 2027, when many museums, including the national fine arts institute's, stay open late into the evening, often free.
Father's Day, the third Sunday of June, is 20 June in 2027, and fills the city's restaurants for Sunday lunch, though nothing like Mother's Day in May.

Solo Travellers
Leave early for Teotihuacán and be back by lunch, ahead of the storm, then give the afternoon to the Museo Nacional de Antropología. On 30 June, join Noche de Museos in the Centro.
Couples
Walk the green lanes of Coyoacán in the morning, with a booked visit to the Casa Azul, and spend the stormy afternoon over a long lunch; the evening, after the rain, is the best time for a rooftop drink in Roma or Condesa.
Families
The Bosque de Chapultepec is at its greenest in June, with the castle, the lake and the zoo, best in the morning, and Papalote, the children's museum, makes a good wet afternoon.
Groups
Join the Pride march or watch it from the pavement, and celebrate afterwards in Zona Rosa.
On any other weekend, a morning trajinera on the canals of Xochimilco, with food and music on board, suits a group.
#Getting Around
At the airport, AICM, the safest way into the city is an official taxi paid for at the desks in the arrivals hall, or an app car from its signed pick-up area. The Metro and Metrobús work on the same rechargeable card; outside rush hour, the Metrobús lines along Reforma and Insurgentes are the comfortable choice.
In the rainy season, the city moves well until the sky opens. Then the streets flood, traffic stops and app prices jump, so plan your afternoon to be already where you want to be by about three.

On a stormy afternoon, do as the city does: settle in for a long comida corrida, the set lunch, from about 2pm.

The storms usually pass by evening, and Roma, Condesa and the Centro go out after them. Pride weekend is the city's biggest party of the month, centred on Zona Rosa. The cantinas of the Centro, with free snacks for each drink, are dry and lively on a wet night.

Shop under a roof in the rainy season: crafts from every state at La Ciudadela, and cheeses, fruit and exotic meats at the Mercado de San Juan. The Lagunilla Sunday market is open-air, so go early, and the independent shops of Roma Norte make an easy wet-afternoon wander between showers.
